What was the highlight of Mikee Pension
Only the location and the price.
Only the location and the price. The location is right in El Nido town and it was really cheap - but now I know why!
It was SO HOT in the room as there was no air con, only one stand up fan. There was a ceiling fan however, there was tape over the switch and it had about 5 layers of dust on so I wouldn't have used it anyway in fear of looking like a chimney sweep after. The owner has some lovely dogs - unfortunately this does mean it always smells of wet dog in the common area. There were 2 bathrooms on my level (most basic hotels in Philippines just have a toilet and a shower head as the bathroom) and one of the shower heads in the bathroom didn't work. There is no hot water but then again I was always so hot from that bedroom that a cold shower seemed very appealing for once! Most important thing to know if you plan to stay here and get any sleep is make sure you bring earplugs and an eyemask. If I didn't have these with me then I wouldn't of got a wink of sleep. The household is very noisy - when I stayed there were always kids (that live there) sitting on the hallway floor outside the bedrooms watching videos and music out loud on there mobiles, one morning at 6am it sounded like the floor above me were changing all the furniture around for an hour. The street is very noisy and the curtains can't even be classed as curtains because they are see through netting so does absolutely nothing to block light out. No one is ever in reception and there were a few occasions when I had questions but most importantly checking in! I had to sit in reception waiting and hoping someone would turn up at some point and that I was in fact in the right place since its unusual to not have ANYONE around. Eventually a man comes downstairs and I ask if the owner was home? His response : yeah he'll be down in a minute we were playing PlayStation. Wonderful! I hope he won the game since I'd sat for over half an hour after 24 hours of travelling on no sleep.

What was the highlight of Mikee Pension
Definitely worst experience of my trip.
Definitely worst experience of my trip. It has a strong dog smell because they have many dogs inside the house. The room was not so clean. All the room and bathroom full of ants. And the worst part is that the last day we realized a mouse has been living with us in te room. The 2nd day we realized that a mouse had entered because we had a piece of chocolate in a bag and the bag was all bitten and the chocolate also but we didn’t see the mouse so they swept the room and that was all. They seem not to be surprised about this. And then the last day we woke up in the middle of the night with the mouse smelling our things over the table, it was horrible. We hope the owners make something so no one has to go trough this situation never again.

Good value for money.
Good value for money. Staff is nice. They have three 4 beautiful dogs inside the pension which we liked to play with. Room is basic but clean. Has a nice common terrace where you can chill and have your coffee.

Has 24/7 reception, owners/staff are always available. They even helped us find another hotel with available rooms! Breakfast is served at a near resto (Maa's Grille) - try their tocilog, corned beef silog, and porkchop. Their coffee and pancakes are good, too! This place also has a great location, right in the middle of El Nido's busiest area and is just a 2-min walk to the beach
Shared restroom could be better if they had windows but their restrooms are usually kept clean by the staff so it's worth the price for me. There are only 2 restrooms for guests so better to be early!
